Sent Select Group of 22 Students to Malaysia in 2017
Through organizing the “First Annual Workshop for New Southbound Talent Development,” the ASEAN and South Asia Research Center helped the Office of International Affairs send a select group of 22 students from the colleges of business, management, social science, and science to Yirun Enterprises in Malaysia to undergo a two week international internship. The 22 students variously acted as product manager, product planning developer, labor safety specialist, production management analyst, human resource manager, information system engineer, equipment maintenance engineer, automation engineer, chemical analyst, factory manager, and legal specialist interns. The results from this year’s international internship were fruitful. Malaysia’s Yirun Enterprises was very satisfied with the interns selected, trained, and sent by the ASEAN and South Asia Research Center and has already begun recruiting multiple students.
